Learning Mode

Learning mode is a quick way to teach the LC16E which CC or NRPN parameters a device responds to. You connect the device bidirectionally, enter learning mode, and twist its knobs — the controller learns automatically.

Setup

Connect your device using MIDI cables: MIDI Out of your device → MIDI In of LC16E, and MIDI In of your device → MIDI Out of LC16E.

Entering Learning Mode

1. Hold down Button 1, then press Button 4.
2. All LEDs light up white — you are now in learning mode.
3. Press the button on the encoder you want to teach.
4. The associated LED starts blinking.
5. Twist the corresponding knob on your device.
6. When learning succeeds, the LED stops blinking and stays lit.

Exiting Learning Mode

1. Press both Button 2 and Button 3 simultaneously.
2. The LC16E returns to normal mode.
3. Test your learned assignments on the device.
